Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted…”
These powerful words remind us that every phase of life carries its own divine purpose. In May, we find ourselves at the threshold of transformation—moving from the cooling embrace of early spring into the bright, welcoming warmth of summer. All around us, nature displays its splendor: flowers bloom in abundance, gardens burst with color, and the earth is alive with the promise of growth. This season invites us to rejoice in the vibrancy of God’s creation and to see each change as a blessing.
We echo the call of Psalm 34:3: “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.”
May is rich with moments of recognition and celebration. Just days ago, we honored the guiding love of our mothers on Mother’s Day, and now, on Memorial Day (May 26), we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. In each of these observances, we see the hand of God blessing our lives and reminding us to give thanks for every precious gift.
This month also brings personal transitions—families bid farewell to the school year, children eagerly anticipate summer adventures, and high school seniors step confidently into the bright promise of graduation. Each milestone is a testament to new beginnings, growth, and hope.
Within our Church, the season of May presents a unique opportunity to share the Gospel. Our Vacation Bible School (VBS) is more than a program—it is a vibrant outreach that welcomes children and families into the heart of our community. In Matthew 19:13-15, we witness Jesus welcoming little children, declaring, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Here, Jesus teaches us that the Kingdom belongs to those who trust with childlike simplicity and openness.
Just as a child completely trusts in a parent or guardian, so too are we invited to place our faith in Jesus. In that pure, vulnerable trust lies the key to experiencing salvation and entering into the transformative light of God's Kingdom.
What a Savior we have! What an extraordinary opportunity to renew our faith and purpose each day. This year’s VBS theme, “Be Magnified,” is our invitation to reflect that very spirit—unifying our hearts to magnify the Lord and exalt His holy name in all that we do.
May you embrace every season of life with renewed trust, joy, and the radiant promise of our Savior guiding your way.
“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.”
